BE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE – LOVE YOURSELF THE MOST


In this fast paced life, we are so busy fulfilling our responsibilities that we often forget about our own needs. We love everyone around but ignore our own emotional and physical wellbeing. But wouldn’t it be beautiful if we start loving ourselves the most, if we prioritise our own well being and start doing things that make us happy. Because when we love ourselves that’s when we allow universe to understand our worth and give us everything that we wish for.

But how do we start? Here are some things that can help you change your life for better. Trust me these small things have the power to alter your life completely…!!

So, here you go…!!

TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH

Wherever you are whatever you do, please remember that the only thing that will stay with you forever is your body. So, start taking care of yourself. Stop making excuses and do what is required not just to keep yourself fit but also to stop ageing…focus on self love… Hit the gym, complete 10K steps daily, dedicate half an hour to exercise and if you can’t do any of these, then at least do 7 Surya Namaskars daily, it will hardly take 10 minutes but will energise yourself for the day.

And if you can’t take out time for yourself because you are busy with taking care of your family or your office work is too much to handle, then….Remember, you can take care of others and excel in your work….only when you take care of yourself first…!!

MAKE LITTLE PROGRESS EVERYDAY TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM 

Easier said than done…. But trust me this is the most important thing in life. Most of the time we know very well what makes us happy, but we are either too afraid to give it a try and even if we do, we are too lazy to be consistent. But remember every day is a new chance to change your life, just try to do what you really want to. Start with just 10 minutes a day and just do it for 21 days at a stretch and then it will eventually turn into a habit.

Instead of making excuses make little progress every day and one day you will realise that these small steps have eventually led you to where you always wanted to be…!!

STAND UP FOR YOURSELF 

Many times, we ignore it when people treat us badly, but remember….If you will not take stand for yourself then who else will? Make sure wherever you go, you are treated with respect. Don’t be harsh when people disrespect you but remember to give it back wisely, so that they understand what they have done and will not dare to do it again and if you can’t give it back then at least walk away from that situation.

Always draw the boundaries for how you want to be treated and don’t let people take undue advantage of you. Respect yourself and the world will respect you!!!

STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT

Even if that means going against your friends and family…. it takes lot of courage to challenge the wrong  thing and the wrong person but remember wrong does not become right, bad does not become good and fake people do not become genuine just because they are accepted by the majority.

Be it in school, college, office, or society…remember to support the truth because your one courageous act might become the reason for someone’s survival!!

KEEP ENHANCING YOUR GOALS AND DREAMS AS YOU MOVE FORWARD IN LIFE

We all have dreams but sometimes life is unpredictable, sometimes you are faced with failures and disappointments and sometimes you get more than you desired. Whatever it is… Life surely gives you many opportunities to make your dreams come true. All that you need to do is to adjust your dreams to the changing realities… this does not mean to compromise on the life that you wanted but it just means to make some changes as life moves on.

Who knows with little adjustment your life turns out to be much better than you ever thought of!!

FORGIVE YOURSELF FOR MAKING MISTAKES

We all make mistakes, after all we are not God. Many times, we learn from these and move on and many times people keep judging us for the wrong that we did. But remember…that’s their problem and not yours. You need to forgive yourself at times and move on. Remember, you acted in the best way that you were capable of that time. We all are learning to be more human…and one bad choice cant make you a bad person…keep choosing and keep learning. Don’t remind yourself of your mistakes over and over again.

Forgive yourself for past behaviours, for bad decisions and forgive yourself for being who you needed to be in that moment…. Take a deep breath, you are allowed to be human!!

NEVER SHY AWAY FROM TRYING NEW THINGS

Trying new things can make you expand your horizon, discover new passions and make you grow as an individual. Don’t be fooled by the constraints of age or the opinion of others. Step out of your comfort zone and develop as a better person. Explore new hobbies and try to expose yourself to new ideas and also explore new horizons. Life is made up of experiences and when you try out something new, you add something memorable to your bucket list.

So, go ahead and add new stories, new dreams and new connections to your life…because sometimes a fresh start is all you need to live the life you always wanted to…!!!
